Hot Setting

Hot setting means to set the springs under higher temperature than the normal temperature in the place of usage (= artificial ageing). By anticipating the permanent set, a better utilisation of material can be reached.

Advantages:

  • Avoiding relaxation with higher working temperature
  • Increase of life

The hot set test provides us with information about the force- and length loss of a spring at a certain temperature.
